Sen. Bong Go encourages Sariaya people to get vaccinated

SARIAYA, Quezon – Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, chairman of the Senate Committee on Health, renewed his call on residents here, especially the elderly and those suffering from illness, to get vaccinated though Covid-19 is no longer alarming.

Go made the call during his visit here on Sunday, May 28, as he conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of a super health center. Go at the same time announced the allocation of P10 million for the construction of an access road leading to a government complex  being developed in this town.

He said the super health center is a medium-type polyclinic which is an improved version of a rural health center. Here, Go said, pregnant women can be admitted, or serve as a dental laboratory, vaccination, laboratory, and other emergency and medical services.

In 2022, he said, there were 307 super health centers constructed all over the country and another 322 are under implementation for 2023. In Quezon province alone, Go said there are 15 super health centers.

Go thanked his colleagues in Congress and the Department of Health (DoH) for the support extended to him.

He said another P150 million under the 2022 annual budget had been allocated for infrastructure improvement for the Lucena City General Hospital.

The hospital was initiated by Quezon 2nd district Representative David “Jayjay” C. Suarez, and soon to be completed.

“Asahan ninyo sa abot ng aking makakaya kung ano ang makakatulong sa inyong ospital, dahil ang aking adbokasiya, is this “the more we invest sa ating health care system mas handa dapat tayo, at ilapit natin ang serbisyo medikal sa ating mga kababayan.”

Go also distributed multivitamins and over-the-counter medicines on top of financial assistance to 1,000 residents who received P3,000 each, including pregnant women and the elderly, through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Mayor Marcelo Gayeta thanked Gp for his support to projects in Sariaya.

In another development, Ace Medical Center, a private hospital owned by some 45 doctors, the majority of whom are natives of Sariaya, is nearing completion to serve the public.
