Most wanted person in Pasig nabbed in Rizal jail


A 52-year-old man tagged as the Pasig City police's most wanted person for illegal possession of firearms was arrested in a police custodial facility in Cainta, Rizal on Friday, May 26.

Pasig Police Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr., identified the suspect as “Ronnie,” 52, a resident of Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal.

Investigation showed that the suspect was presently detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Male Dormitory in Cainta, Rizal for possession and sale of illegal drugs, violating Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.”

Upon further verification, the suspect was found to have a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Section 28 of Republic Act No. 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”

The warrant was issued by Hon. Tomas Eduardo Buenafe Maddela III, the presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 265 in Pasig City, on Nov. 7, 2022.

Operatives from the Pasig Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) and the Fourth Mobile Force Company (MFC), Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) served the warrant to the suspect at around 2 p.m. in BJMP Cainta.

The suspect remains detained at the BJMP Male Dormitory, located in the Cainta Municipal Compound, Sto. Domingo, Cainta, Rizal, awaiting the commitment order of the RTC.

In a statement, Col. Sacro lauded the local police forces for pursuing their investigation, leading to the arrest of the city’s most wanted person.

“The entire Pasig police force, together with other police units, continues its intensified campaign to put lawless elements and wanted persons behind bars without fear or favor and maximizes its efforts to eradicate all forms of lawlessness in the city,” he said.
