Fire hits church's stockroom in Ermita, Manila

A fire hit a church's stockroom at Arquiza Street, corner of Mabini, Ermita, Manila, on Sunday, May 28. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started at a stockroom inside the Diocese of Nuestra Senora de Guia. The BFP said the fire was raised to a first alarm at 3:02 p.m. and escalated to a second alarm at 3:21 p.m. The fire was declared under control at 3:44 p.m. and was extuingished at 4 p.m. BFP said a fireman sustained injuries after falling on the ground while responding to the incident. A three-story seaman dormitory was also reportedly affected. The cost of damage and the cause of the fire is still under investigation. (Richielyn Bernaldez)
