Police net 6 wanted persons in Cordillera

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police arrested six wanted persons, including two top most wanted persons on the provincial level, in a one-day manhunt operation in the Cordillera region on Friday, May 26. The Pudtol Municipal Police Station in Apayao arrested farmer Christopher Daguio, 26, of Barangay Aga, Pudtol, for attempted murder with bail of P120,000 set by Judge Victor Cumigad of Branch 26, Regional Trial Court, Luna, Apayao. The Apayao Police Provincial Office said Daguio is listed as the province's No. 4 Top Most Wanted Person in the second quarter of 2023. Claurance Hinag Bagto, 44, also a farmer and resident of Mappit, Duit, Kiangan, Ifugao, was arrested in Sitio Ngilinan, Barangay Disimungal, Nagtipunan, Quirino by the Kiangan MPS based on a warrant issued by Judge Romeo Habbiling of Branch 14, RTC, Lagawe, Ifugao for rape. No bail was recommended by the court for his release. Bagto, police said, was the No. 6 TMWP of Ifugao. Police identified the other wanted persons apprehended as Gilbert Marquez Estipular, 36, for frustrated homicide; Gale Peckley, 32, for estafa; Merly dela Rosa Gutierrez, 58, for violation of Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012; and Andres Sacpa Waayan, 53, for theft.
