P23-M shabu seized from fire volunteer in Parañaque buy-bust
A fire volunteer was arrested by members of the Parañaque City Police when he yielded P23,460,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation early Saturday morning, May 27.
According to the report submitted by Col. Renato Ocampo to the Southern Police District (SPD), the suspect was identified as Jonnie Romo alias "Han," 41, a fire volunteer.
The report showed that the suspect was arrested at around 2:50 a.m. on Balimbing St. in Phase 3, Olivarez Compound, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City.
Ocampo said members of the Parañaque Police Sub-Station 4, in coordination with Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), conducted the buy-bust operation for the arrest of Romo.
He said the operation resulted in the seizure of 3,450 grams of shabu contained in eight knot-tied transparent plastic sachets, two medium-sized plastic tea bags sealed with label "GUAR YUN WANG", and one medium-sized transparent plastic sachet.
The city police chief said the confiscated shabu is worth ₱23,460,000.
Ocampo said operatives also recovered one P1,000 bill on top of 139 pieces of boodle money used as buy-bust money, a colored blue-green eco-bag, a brown envelope, and a weighing scale.
He said the confiscated shabu was turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
The suspect was detained at the police custodial facility after his arrest. He was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165Â (Comprehensive
Dangerous Drugs Act).
