Jobless man rearrested for peddling shabu in Baguio


BAGUIO CITY – Police rearrested a drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Camp 7 here on Friday, May 26.

The suspect was identified as Aldy Pinolgan, 22, jobless, of Kadaclan Village, Apugan-Loakan, this city.

According to the police, Pinolgan was arrested for illegal drugs in June 2022 and was released in December 2022 after accepting a plea-bargaining agreement for his case.

However, the suspect allegedly returned to pushing and after surveillance, a buy-bust operation was conducted against him by the Baguio City Police Office Station 2 and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, which was witnessed by Barangay Kagawad Benedict A. Cadiay, Prosecutor Philip Ceasar Castel, and media representative.

Recovered from Pinolgan was a transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.35 grams valued at P2,380.

Suspect faces charges for violating Republic Act 9156 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, marijuana plants were discovered by Bakun Municipal Police Station personnel in a mountainous area in Sitio Liblibo, Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet, on Friday.

Found were 400 fully grown marijuana plants planted in a 100-square meter lot and worth P80,000. These were uprooted and burned on-site.
