CAVITE – Local government units (LGU) and the provincial police office are preparing for the possible impact of super typhoon "Betty."
In a statement on Saturday, May 27, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director Col. Christopher F. Olazo directed chiefs of police to coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices to prepare for the typhoon.
The police have also been directed to prepare for possible deployment in low-lying areas prone to flooding.

On Friday, May 26, the Cavite Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council conducted a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) to discuss the situation overview and standard operating procedures for typhoon response. Also discussed during the meeting were preparations done by local disaster risk reduction and management offices. According to Cavite’s flood hazard map, flood-prone areas in the province include the coastal areas of Bacoor City, Cavite City, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza, Naic, and Ternate.
