BACOLOD CITY – A suspected drug personality was allegedly gunned down by his female companion in Purok Tahong, Barangay 2 here on Friday, May 26.
The victim was identified as Christian Escalona, 23, of Barangay Singcang-Airport here.
Police Capt. Jonito Pastrana, head of Police Station 2, said the victim was driving a tricycle with a companion on board when they were seen allegedly arguing.
When they reached the area, the victim stopped over to greet another female friend.
However, this irked the victim’s companion, prompting her to punch the girl, Pastrana said.
The girl tried to avoid them by going home, but she suddenly heard gunshots.
When she turned her back, she saw the victim wounded while his companion fled, Pastrana said.
Police recovered from the crime scene three fired bullets of a .45 caliber firearm.
Pastrana said they have no idea about the argument of the victim and his companion. He said they also have yet to determine the motive in the incident.
He said they have already identified the victim’s companion as the suspect, but he did not reveal her name, pending the investigation.
Pastrana said the victim was an alleged drug personality in the area of Police Station 8 while the suspect was previously arrested for a drug offense and is now under probation. The suspect is still at large.
