ILOILO CITY – The Army 3rd Infantry Division (ID) has 191 new soldiers for Western Visayas.

(3rd ID photo) One-hundred seventy-seven male and 14 female soldiers with the rank of Private First Class (PFC) graduated earlier this week in a ceremony in Camp Peralta, headquarters of the 3rd ID in Jamindan town, Capiz province after a lengthy training. "Remember the time when you eagerly waited to fulfill your heart's desires, sacrificing your time and effort to pursue your dreams of becoming one of us. You have come from diverse backgrounds and various regions, and now it is imperative that you prove your worthiness and dedication to the positive values instilled by the Army," said Brig. Gen. Leonardo Pena, 3rd ID assistant division commander. They underwent 16 weeks of training and learned fundamentals of soldiery, including physical conditioning, tactical skills, and the Army core values, at the 3rd ID Training School. These new soldiers were deployed to units under the 3rd ID in Panay, Negros, and Siquijor islands.
