Valenzuela LGU temporarily stops construction works due to 'Betty'

The local government of Valenzuela temporarily stopped on Friday, May 26, all ongoing construction works in the city as part of the preparations for typhoon "Betty" (international name: Mawar).
The city building official issued the order and advised the workers and residents to be ready for inclement weather.
The city government said everyone must appropriately secure all the moving structures, equipment, devices, and tower cranes that may be prone to accidents and may cause injuries or loss of life during the typhoon.

The building official also instructed the workers at the construction sites to roll down all tarpaulin signage and billboards.
The City Welfare and Development Office (CWDO) has prepared disaster kits and relief packs for the Valenzuelanos at the Allied Local Emergency Response Teams (ALERT) Center in Barangay Malinta.
The city government urged the residents to keep preparedness kits including first aid kit, flashlight, power bank and charger, toiletries, clothes, blankets, ready-to-eat food, bottled water, important documents and identification cards, and facemask.
