P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon is upset with the Marcos administration's intention of implementing a food stamps program, saying it shows just how deeply mired the country is in poverty.

Guanzon aired her sentiments in a series of tweets Friday, May 26.

"Food stamps? Talagang sagad na ang Pilipinas sa kahirapan (The Philippines is truly deep in poverty). #mgainutil," she wrote.

"Food stamps na ang solusyon sa kahirapan? Para tayong dumaan sa digmaan .#mgainutil (Food stamps are now the solution to poverty? It's like we just went through a war)," the outspoken Guanzon said in another tweet.

Finally, she cited reports that President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos wanted to tap Asian Development Bank to pilot the food stamps. She had a lot of questions about this.

"Ano ang source of funds ? Magkano? Hanggang kelan ito? (What is the source of funds? How much? For how long?)" asked Guanzon.

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian earlier brought up the possibility of implementing a food stamp program as a way to reduce hunger in the country.
