The city government of Manila offered 2,500 jobs during the "Kalinga sa Maynila PESO Job Fair" in Pandacan, Manila on Friday, May 26.
"Kalinga sa Maynila PESO Job Fair" is a program initiated by Mayor Honey Lacuna through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO)-Manila.
PESO-Manila invited all high school, college and technical-vocational graduates to come to the PESO job fair, which was held with the help of the Department of Labor and Employment- National Capital Region (DOLE- NCR) Manila Field Office.
Some of the positions offered were human resources staff, promo merchandising supervisor, report analyst, accounting staff, data analyst, data encoder, merchandiser, brand ambassador, sales associate, production worker/helper, administrative staff, quality control staff, accounting staff, and office staff.
The PESO-Manila also congratulated the lucky applicants who were hired on the spot.
The job seekers expressed their gratitude to Mayor Honey for giving them a chance to get a job.
“Maraming salamat po kay Mayor Honey dito sa programa Kalinga sa Maynila Job Fair, nabigyan po ako ng trabaho (Thank you very much to Mayor Honey for the Kalinga sa Manila Job Fair program, I was given a job),” a 53-year-old woman applicant stated.
“Hirap po akong makahanap ng trabaho dahil may binabantayang baby, hindi po makaalis kaya natutuwa po ako [ngayon] kasi malapit lang sa bahay. Kasama ko pa 'yung anak ko na pumunta ngayon (It's hard for me to find a job because I have a baby to look after, so I'm happy [now] because it's close to my home. My son also came here with me today),” another applicant who was hired on the spot said. (Richielyn Canlas)
