Man nabbed for stealing workout equipment in Pasig


A 29-year-old man was arrested by operatives of the Pasig City Police on Thursday, May 25, for stealing a pair of dumbbells and for illegal possession of firearms in Barangay Manggahan Pasig.

According to the police, a resident of the barangay and a member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) heard his dog barking frantically outside their house. This prompted him to check and saw the suspect, identified as "Chrisbert" and works as a gasoline boy in the city, scaling his fence.

The victim quickly called the police from Sub-Station 8 who quickly responded.

The police recovered from the arrested suspect two dumbbells with four plates weighing 4.4lbs worth P3,000 and a caliber .38 revolver.

"Chrisbert" will be charged with Robbery and for Violation of R.A. No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office.

Pasig City Police Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr. commended the officers of the Sub-Station 8 for the suspect's arrest and urged the public to report any crime or misdeed they see happening in the city.
