Joshua Garcia on being tagged as 'the next John Lloyd Cruz'

Even back when he was just starting to carve a name in show business, many were already predicting Joshua Garcia's success. True enough, after his stint as contestant on "Pinoy Big Brother," he was able to quickly snag projects left and right. Critics noted his acting prowess, giving him the tag "the next John Lloyd Cruz."
How did he feel about it? In an interview on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," Joshua admitted it was "flattering." "Sobrang flattering na parang gusto ko na lang maglaho na parang bula," was how he put it.
Things have changed since. "Hindi ko na siya masyado nakukuha and mabuti siya para sa 'kin," he related. "I'm honored na matawag bilang John Lloyd Cruz, nakatulong din siya sa 'kin sa karera ko na tinatawag nila kong ganun," he added. "Pero s'yempre gusto ko ring i-prove na may sarili akong (identity)."
