The fruits and processed meat were confiscated after the passengers failed to produce the corresponding health and import documents from the port of origin, as well as clearance from the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) and Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).

Authorities reminded incoming passengers that they cannot bring in vegetables, fruits, meat and meat products into the Philippines without the required clearance from the necessary agencies, particularly the Department of Agriculture (DA).
