Laure made the announcement on social media Thursday night, May 25, thanking the school and the community for the support she has received for the past 12 years.

“Salamat UST,” Laure wrote.

Laure said she couldn’t find the words to express her gratitude for the people who helped her become who she is right now, and admitted that arriving at this decision didn’t come easy.

“Para akong nakikipag-break sa libu-libong tao and my heart shattering into pieces. Ang sakit at ang hirap magpaalam,” she wrote.

The Tigresses captain also apologized for not being able to give the school a UAAP championship over the course of her four-year career in the women’s division.

But more than that, salamat.

Laure said she will treasure the experiences she had with the school and with the team on her future endeavors.

“No goodbyes. Just see you again,” she wrote.

“I will forever be your Kapitana Eya Laure. Kasama niyong sisigaw ng Go USTe hanggang dulo.”

Laure won numerous individual awards while playing for UST, including the 2019 UAAP Season 81 Rookie of the Year and First Best Outside Hitter.

During her junior years, she went on to win multiple accolades including the 2015 UAAP Season 78 Season MVP plum.
