Couple yields P2.7-M shabu in Malate, Manila

A couple yielded a total of P2,720,000 worth of alleged shabu in Malate, Manila on Wednesday, May 24. Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspects as Caironisah Esmail, 42, and her live-in partner Abul Panandigan, 32, residents of Quiapo, Manila. According to the police report, the couple was arrested on Madre lgnacia Street near the corner of Quirino Avenue, Malate, Manila at 11:05 p.m. Recovered from the suspects were eight plastic sachets containing approximately 400 grams of suspected shabu. The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Police said Esmail will face an additional charge for violation of Section 5 of RA 9165.
