CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Two New People’s Army fighters surrendered to authorities in Laguna and Cavite on Wednesday, May 24.
Police Regional Office 4-A Director Police Brig. Gen. Carlito Gaces identified the surrenderers as Edgar Morada, 55, and Jeffrey Ulaye, alias “Alpon” and “Akoy.”
Morada surrendered to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4-A in Laguna and turned over an M1 Garand rifle and 15 bullets.
From Paete, Laguna, Morada was an NPA under the Milisyang Bayan (MB) operating in Sitio Pulang Lupa, Paete. He had been sheltering colleagues in his house and tasked to safeguard some of their firearms.
Ulaye surrendered in Sitio Patungan, Maragondon, Cavite.
A full-pledged member of the NPA and affiliated with the Save Patungan Movement, Anakbayan-Cavite, and a member of the Eduardo Dagli Command of the Sub-Regional Military Area 4-C, Ulaye surrendered his caliber .38 revolver with three bullets.
