CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police destroyed marijuana worth P57 million during a week-long eradication operation in Benguet and Kalinga from May 14 to 20.
The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Operations Division (ROD) said operation resulted in the discovery of 227, 470 fully-grown marijuana plants, 3,360 marijuana seedlings, and 95,000 grams of marijuana stalks with an overall standard drug price of P57,028,400.
Meanwhile, eight drug personalities were arrested and 5.63 grams of suspected shabu with an SDP of P38,284 were seized in anti-illegal drug operations in the region during the week.
Suspects were identified as Christian Albert Garcia, 55; Belvet Palma, 47; Raysun Jacob, 39; Ramil Ong, 54;Â Chester Mamma, 19; Jay Ralph Casidsid, 18; Dave Perez, 19; and Obbed Cangitit, 41.
They face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
