Around 3.4 kilos of suspected cocaine worth P18.3 million were seized from a 48-year-old man from Suriname after landing at the Clark International Airport on Tuesday night, May 23.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Clark identified the suspect as Renaldo Wilfred Olivieira.
Olivieira arrived at Clark on board a flight from the United Arab Emirates at around 6:31 p.m.
A thorough inspection of his luggage discovered the contraband concealed inside his jackets at 7:44 a.m.
Around 30 vacuum-sealed transparent pack wrapped in mesh cloth and blue carbon paper containing cocaine were recovered from his possession.
This interdiction operation was jointly conducted by the PDEA-Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Unit, PDEA-Region 3, PDEA-Region 7, Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, Bureau of Immigration, National Bureau of Investigation-Pampanga District Office, and Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Unit 3.
Suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
