BACOLOD CITY – A motorcycle rider on his way to buy milk for his child died while a lending collector was injured in a collision in Purok Malipayon, Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, May 23.

The fatality was identified as Arcris Capadocia, 36, of Barangay Tampalon. Injured was lending collector Patricio Bacsan Jr., 36, of Barangay Talubangi, Kabankalan City. Police Senior Master Sgt. Ramonito Regalia Jr., chief investigator of the Kabankalan City Police Station, said that Bacsan’s motorcycle was allegedly speeding and overlapped into Capadocia’s lane while approaching a curved part of the road. Bacsan crashed into Capadocia who fell from his motorcycle and hit his head on the pavement. Capadocia was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead. The victim was on his way to the city proper to buy milk for his child when he figured in the accident. Regalia said that Bacsan was arrested in Barangay Talubangi a few hours after the accident happened after he checked into a hospital for minor injuries. His companion was unharmed. Policemen are awaiting the decision of the victim’s family if they will file a case. Bacsan is willing to extend assistance to the victim’s family.
