Man dies in Negros motorcycle mishap

BACOLOD CITY – A motorcycle rider died after he crashed into a mango tree on his way home in Sitio Villalon, Barangay Marcelo, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Monday, May 22.

Police identified the victim as Fortunato Nepalar, 27, of Barangay Minapasuk, Calatrava.
Police Capt. Jesus Alba, deputy chief of the Calatrava Municipal Police Station, said the victim was seen by some witnesses allegedly swerving while driving his motorcycle before hitting the mango tree. Alba said the victim was reportedly under the influence of liquor as he attended a fiesta. The victim had no helmet and was declared dead in a hospital, according to Alba.
