Thus said Police Col. Reinerio de Chavez, newly installed director of the Batangas Police Provincial Office, on Wednesday, May 24, during the formal turnover of the symbolic command flag officiated by Police Regional Office 4-A deputy regional director Police Brig. General Gregory Bogñalbal.

“Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa pagkakataong makapaglingkod sa sarili kong bayan. Gagawin ko ang abot ng aking makakaya upang labanan ang kriminalidad sa probinsya ng Batangas (I thank for this opportunity to serve in my own province. I will do my best to fight criminality in the province of Batangas),” said De Chavez.

In his farewell speech, Police Col. Pedro Soliba, whom De Chavez replaced, expressed his gratitude to the men and women of the Batangas police for a job well done during his stint as provincial director.

De Chavez urged the Batangas PPO to support the five-focused agenda of Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. which are the bases of his administrative and operational program in the province.

He urged the strict implementation of the laws against criminality, insurgency, and terrorism, with emphasis on morale and welfare of the police forces of Batangas PPO.
