Padilla stressed this during a Senate public order and dangerous drugs committee hearing on the controversial seizure of P6.7 billion worth of drugs in October, 2022 in Manila where some PNP elements conspired to steal some of the drugs. He proudly narrated his having done jail time for illegal possession of firearms because he had the balls to respect the Constitution. ‘’Bad boy pa ako noon (I was a bad boy then). E kayo po na nandiyan sa serbisyo na kayo ay tumanggap ng oath, kayo tumanggap ng inyong pagsumpa, sana po ilabas nyo ang bayag ninyo diyan (And you are in the force, have taken your oath..I hope you show your balls),’’ he added. in today’s hearing presided by Senator Ronald ‘’Bato’’ dela Rosa, a former PNP chief, seven policemen were cited in contempt and detained at the Senate Office of Sergeant at Arms (OSAA) for lying on the arrest of Police Master Sergeant Rodolfo Mayo Jr. who was arrested in possession of 990 kilos of shabu in October, 2022 in Sta. Cruz, Manila. Five of the seven are Patrolman Hassan Kalaw, Patrolman Romar Bugarin, Master Set. Carlo Bayeta, Patrolman Dennis Carolino and Patrolman Hustin Peter Gular from the Special Operations Unit 4-A of PNP Drug Enforcement Group. The committee earlier cited in contempt Mayo and his superior, Lt. Col. Arnulfo Ibanez for lying. Dela Rosa said the seven would be together at the Senate basement where they could box one another to show the fittest. Senator Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada said the seven would he detained until they have decided to tell the truth.
