The beneficiaries of the assistance program included individuals who have taken and will be taking the board or bar examinations from their respective fields.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto conferred the cash aid worth P10,000 to each beneficiary in a ceremony at the Tanghalang Pasigueño.

The assistance initiative, led by the Pasig City Scholarship Office (PCSO), aims to help ease the financial burden incurred from the requirements, processing, and preparation of these examinations for students and professionals.

According to the city’s Public Information Office (PIO), any student or professional who resides in Pasig can avail of the cash assistance.

Membership or acceptance into the Pasig City Scholarship Program is not required.

Sotto bid good luck to the examinees and expressed his hope that many of them would work in the city once they pass the exams.

"Pero kung saan man kayo mapadpad o mapunta, lagi na lang po natin isipin na let's find ways to give back (Wherever you go, let’s always keep in mind how we can find ways to give back [to the city]),” Sotto said.

He also encouraged exam takers who did not pass their first few attempts to keep trying. He shared that some of the professionals he personally knows also failed their initial exams.

"Hindi iyan sukat sa galing o talino natin. Minsan ganyan talaga ang buhay. Madaming distractions, di tayo masyado nagfocus. Ang importante ay paano tayo makakabangon, ano ang gagawin natin pagkatapos natin magfail, sa kahit anong part ng buhay natin ([Exams] are not a measure of skills or smarts. Sometimes, that’s how life is. There are many distractions, we can’t really focus. What’s important is how we overcome them, what we do after we fail, in any part of our lives),” he added.
