Palace bares new Marcos appointees


A new set of government officials were appointed by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. in various agencies.

Marcos designated new officials in the Department of Finance (DOF), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Transportation (DOTr), Office of the President (OP), and Department of National Defense (DND).

Among the new appointees was journalist Jose Torres Jr. as the incoming director-general of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

The President has appointed Paulino Gutierrez as executive director, with the rank of undersecretary, of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security under the DOJ.

The President also appointed Karlo Fermin Adriano as assistant secretary in the DOF, and Alberto Francisco Pascual as the acting president and chief-executive-officer, and member of Board of Directors of the Philippine Guarantee Corporation.

He also tapped Vanessa Grace Samson as head executive assistant in the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO).

Marcos also designated Director IV in various agencies. They are Gilbert Cacatian (DOLE), George Almaden (DOTr), and Karen Kreez Tangco-Pascasio (OP-Governance Commission for Government-owned or-controlled Corporations).

The chief executive promoted Bryx Leonida as Philippine Navy lieutenant.

The new appointments were announced by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Tuesday, May 23.
