Mayor Wes probes falsification of document case in Valenzuela
Valenzuela City PIO/MANILA BULLETIN
Valenzuela City Mayor Weslie “Wes” Gatchalian met with the people involved in a falsification incident in Valenzuela City on Monday, May 22. According to the city government, it received a complaint from employees of an electric company that a fraudulent document was submitted to them. Based on the investigation, the fraudulent document's owner was a businessman who hired a "fixer" to falsify documents for a business permit, which was required for electric meter installation. Upon noticing the fraudulence, the electric company reported the incident to authorities to ask for legal action against the people involved. Gatchalian summoned both parties for a thorough briefing and pre-investigation on the incident. The city government said that the case was resolved immediately. Gatchalian reminded the authorities to be vigilant of fake documents. He reiterated that through the city’s “Paspas Permit” system, the process of document request in Valenzuela City is “convenient and trouble-free.” Paspas Permit is part of the city’s initiatives to provide hassle-free application, renewal, and payment for the business permit process. The system promotes a “10-Seconds Business Permit” through its expanded online services. The mayor stated that he wants this incident to serve as a warning to everyone who will not comply with the legal processes.
