Nishikant Singh, economic and commerce counselor of the Embassy of India, with Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. (PCCI-Iloilo)
ILOILO CITY -- To explore further the economic ties, the city and province of Iloilo is hosting the India Business Roadshow on May 31.
“Iloilo is one of our focus areas. We want Indian companies to see what other opportunities Iloilo can offer,” said Nishikant Singh, economic and commerce counselor of the Embassy of India.
The Embassy is closely working with the India Business Forum Philippines Association Inc. and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI-Iloilo) to bring in Indian companies to Iloilo next week.
“This will be an avenue for potential business and development for the Ilonggos and will surely be a good way to promote Iloilo,” said Karmela Alexandra C. Jesena, PCCI-Iloilo director for community relations.
The business roadshow will bring in Indian companies involved in industries such as information technology (IT) and business process management (BPM); pharmaceutical and health care; agriculture, irrigation; chemicals; engineering and automobile; renewable energy; solid waste management; and innovative tech solutions (startups).
Singh said that the business road show next week may bring in more Indian companies to operate in Iloilo.
IT firm Hinduja Global Solutions and WNS Global Services have long been in operation already in Iloilo.
Singh recently met with Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. and Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas as preparations are underway for the business roadshow next week.
