Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) personnel in Bulacan conducted a declogging and drainage cleaning along MacArthur Highway starting from Barangay Tikay to Barangay Dakila in the City of Malolos in the province on Monday, May 22.
DPWH Bulacan First District Engineer Henry Alcantara said a maintenance team led by Engineer Rene Pagtalunan was able to remove bags of mud and garbage from the inlets that blocked the flow of water to the drainage system.

Alcantara said removing garbage and silt in the drainage system could help prevent floods during the rainy season.
He appealed to Bulakenyos to maintain proper waste disposal and not to throw garbage into the waterways and drainages.
