2 housemaids nabbed for theft in QC

Two housemaids were collared by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) personnel after they allegedly stole various items and cash from their employer’s house in Barangay Greater Fairview Quezon City on Tuesday morning, May 23.  The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Fairview Station (PS 5) identified the suspects as Maria Angela Sorbano, 19, a resident of Barangay. San Juan, Taytay, Rizal, and Sol Promon, 50, of Barangay Bagong Pagasa, Quezon City. According to the police, the victim, Gherian Cortuna Elijah Yap, went to her housemaids' room after she noticed that her personal belongings and cash worth P129,000 were missing at around 4 p.m. on Monday, May 22. However, the two suspects were not in the room which prompted the victim to immediately report to the PS 5. The PS 5, led by Lt. Col. Elizabeth Jasmin, deployed personnel and arrested the suspects at their residences. They recovered the victim’s pair of Nike slippers worth P4,000 and facial wash and cream worth P3,000. The two suspects will be charged for Qualified Theft before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, the QCPD said.
