THE PRO 4-A honors the SAF 44 on Thursday, January 25.

PRO 4-A Deputy Regional Director for Administration Police Col. Aligre L. Martinez led a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bantayog ng Bayaning Tagapamayapa in this camp during the Day of National Remembrance in the presence of SAF 44 families.

Martinez recognized the valor and commitment of the fallen police commandos.

“As we gathered here today, let us not only remember the brave men of the SAF 44 but also reflect on the lessons learned from that tragic day. We must recognize the importance of unity, coordination, and effective communication in our pursuit of national security. The sacrifices made by our heroes must motivate us to constantly strive for excellence in our duty to protect and serve,” Martinez said in behalf of PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr.

Herminia Calagui, mother of the late Police Staff Sgt. Bernard Peter Calagui, who was among the SAF 44, thanked the PRO 4-A for honoring her son.

“Taos pusong pasasalamat sa inyong pagkilala sa kabayanihan ng aking anak. Kung nasaan man sya ngayon ay alam kong binabantayan at ginagabayan nya pa rin ang aming pamilya,” she said.

Also present during the occasion were families of Police Staff Sgt. Rodante Madurog Jr., Police Staff Sgt. Bernard Peter A. Calagui, and Police Corporal Reniel U. Marin, all members of the PRO 4-A who died in the line of duty last year.
