CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City -- The Philippine National Police extended logistical equipment to the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) in its effort to strengthen the region’s police force’s capabilities to fight all forms of criminalities.
The PRO-13 received additional 26 units of motorcycles (Honda XR 150L), 400 units of 5.56mm Galil Basic Assault Rifles, and 50 units of Hytera digital handheld radios from the national headquarters under the PNP’s Capability Enhancement Program (CEP).

The presentation of the equipment was done on Monday, May 22, and properly turned over to the different units of PRO 13 during the turnover ceremony held at police regional headquarters here. PRO 13 Regional Director Police Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra ll disclosed that six motorcycle units each were distributed to Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO), Surigao del Norte PPO, and Surigao del Sur PPO; five to Agusan del Norte PPO; and three to Dinagat Islands PPO. On the other hand, the Galil rifles along with 144,000 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition were given to 13 police stations in Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur, and to three Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFCs). To streamline the communication, the hand-held radios were turned over to Regional Headquarters, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, and five PMFCs. Brig. Gen. Labra graced the blessing and turnover ceremonies which was also attended by the command group, regional staff, chiefs of the National Support Units, and Provincial Directors (PDs). “PRO13 is grateful to the PNP leadership for these additional mobility, firepower, and communication assets which are expected to boost our operational capability and performance of mandated tasks,” the region’s top police official said. “These logistical resources will increase both the efficiency and confidence of the troops in the frontline services,” stressed the soft-spoken police official in Northeastern Mindanao or The Caraga Region. Based on the data from the Regional Logistics and Research Development Division 13, the newly acquired assets had a total worth of P27,842,700. 00. In another development, four uniformed personnel and one non-uniformed personnel (NUP) of PRO 13 received awards for their distinguished accomplishments and performance during the awarding ceremony also held here on Monday. Dela Cruz, Branch Manager of the Government Service Insurance System Butuan Branch was the guest of honor and speaker during the same activity. “May this recognition boost the morale and welfare of our personnel and inspire others to do more in the performance of daily duties and responsibilities,” said Brig. Gen Labra. “Let us use our position as a vehicle for genuine service to the people.” Boosting personnel morale and welfare was part of the 5-focused agenda of the PNP Chief General Benjamin C. Acorda, Jr. and the program thrust DADDI of Brig. Gen. Labra.
