Guanzon airs concern on Manila post office blaze: 'Baka may ipapatayong condominium'
At a glance

They'd better not erect a condominium on the site of the burned down Manila Central Post Office building.
This was practically Rowena Guanzon's concern on Monday, May 22 after the whole country saw the historic edifice in the heart of Manila slowly get consumed by flames.
In a tweet, the P3PWD Party-list nominee wrote: "Sino nag sunog sa Post Office na isang national historical building ? Baka may ipapatayong condominium dyan, mag rally tayo (Who razed the post office, which is a national historical building? Maybe they're going to build a condominium there, let's hold a protest rally)."
So far, the cause of the post office building blaze is a mystery.
What's sure though is that the building is all but completely destroyed by fire from the inside, along with whatever archival material it had held for decades. Only its iconic outer shell remains standing.
The structure was built during the American occupation in 1926.
