The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) met with various stakeholders in Sulu to map out road and other infrastructure projects that would boost the province’s agriculture and economic efficiency.
DPWH Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain said the meeting focused on talks and ideas exchanges that enabled the public to share any queries about the projected scope while the project remains in the feasibility study and detailed engineering design (DED) stages.
He said the infrastructure projects are under the Improving Growth Corridors in Mindanao Road Sector Project (IGCMRSP) funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The projects include the P1.64 billion Paticul - Jolo - Indanan Coastal Bypass Road (with viaduct structure and approach roads) in Indanan and the P8.22 billion Sulu Circumferential Road (with exceptions) in Sulu Province.
“The projects mark the beginning of an effort towards unwavering peace and significant advancement as these projects heal the scars on the hearts of the Moro Muslim People of the South,” said DPWH Unified Project Management Office (UPMO)-Roads Management Cluster 2 Project Director Sharif Madsmo H. Hasim. (Trixee Rosel)
