Bueno said the Binalbagan project is expected to provide defense against overflow brought on by strong and turbulent mountain water while the second project in La Castellana is to prevent soil erosion that can damage the road.

The two projects are a 251.8-lineal meter river bank protection that was completed upstream of Guintubhan River along Binalbagan-Isabela Road and a 143-meter high tensile wire mesh along Vallehermoso-Canlaon City-La Castellana Road.

“These slope protection structures are among the significant contributions of the Department in ensuring the safety and welfare of local communities of La Castellana, Negros Occidental,” Bueno said. (Nicole Magmanlac)
