Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Undersecretary for Scientific and Technical Services Maridon Sahagun invited the public to join the 2023 National Youth Science, Technology, and Innovation Festival (NYSTIF).
Scheduled from Oct. 25 to 28 at The Forum Tent, PICC in Pasay City, carrying the theme "STEM VIBE," the event aims to portray the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) path as Vibrant, Innovative, Brilliant, and Engaging (VIBE) to today's youth.
In a televised public briefing on Monday, Oct. 16, Sahagun shared that this year's NYSTIF is the first festival dedicated to young people and students to broaden their knowledge of science and technology and innovation in life and the development of the economy and country.
Sahagun said that NYSTIF will feature immersive activities such as science, technology, and innovation (STI) through competitions, talks, workshops, seminars, and exhibits.
She added that it is also a way to encourage the public to take the path of science and technology.
“Magkakaroon ang DOST ng apat na exhibits na kumakatawan ng apat na tema o clusters ito ay tungkol sa one nature o ating kapaligiran. (DOST will have four exhibits that represent four themes or clusters that are about the nature of our environment),” Sahagun said.
The first exhibit explores the future of STEM education, shedding light on the evolving landscape of education in STEM fields.
Another exhibit will showcase emerging technologies across industries, including innovations in energy and various sectors.
The third exhibit will focus on wellness and well-being, addressing critical aspects of health, and the final exhibit centers on the environment, highlighting our connection to nature and the importance of preserving it.
The DOST undersecretary encouraged all public members to explore and appreciate the world of science and technology.
"The activity is open to all students, parents, and educators, So we invite all of you to join," she said.
