The Police Regional Office-13 led by Police Brig. Gen. John Kirby B. Kraft and Commission on Elections-Caraga Director Francisco G. Pobe spearheaded the covenant and flying of doves during the event.
Pobe urged candidates to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful elections.
He said barangay officials should serve as model citizens to their constituents as they are the government’s frontliners in delivering public service to the people.
“We would also appeal to everyone to be neutral and apolitical,” Pobe said. “Let us lead the public to their own gains through the basic policy laid down by the commission, and let us be the vanguard and the protectors of the people's will of freedom.”
“In the spirit of unity and collaboration, we have come together from various agencies and walks of life to underscore the importance of a safe, fair, and transparent electoral process,” Kraft said in his message.
“It is our shared responsibility, as public servants, community leaders, civil society representatives, and concerned citizens, to foster an environment where the rights of the people are respected and where the principles of democracy are upheld.”
