Student dies after being hit by tanker on Nueva Vizcaya highway

BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya – A 14-year-old boy died after he was hit by a tanker along the national highway in Barangay Santo Domingo Proper here on Sunday, May 21. The driver of the tanker was identified as Nomer Aba, 45, a resident of Tres Reyes, Saguday, Quirino, while the victim was identified as “Cendric,” a student and resident of Ineangan, Dupax del Norte, this province. According to the Philippine National Police-Bambang, the victim was riding his bicycle when he was hit by the truck. Police said that the truck driver blew his horn to warn the boy. However, the young man was startled, as a result of which, he accidentally fell and was hit by the tanker. The tanker driver is now under the custody of PNP-Bambang and will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
