PMA valedictorian says becoming part of PAF a 'dream come true'
FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City – For Philippine Military Academy (PMA) valedictorian Cadet First Class Warren Leonor, becoming part of the Philippine Air Force is a “dream come true.”

(PMA FB) The 22-year-old Leonor, son of a retired PAF technical sergeant from Lipa City, Batangas, topped the PMA Madasigon (Mandirigmang may Dangal Simbolo ng Galing at Pagbangon) Class 2023 composed of 311 cadets who graduated on Sunday, May 21, at the Borromeo Field, with no less than President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. serving as the guest of honor and speaker in the ceremony. “It was my childhood dream to become a pilot someday,” said Leonor who was readily assigned To the PAF right after his graduation. Leonor later revealed that the PAF service is in the blood of his clan. His father, retired Technical Sgt. Joel Leonor, and 10 of his close relatives are currently in active service in PAF. “My family and my relatives, who are in the active service of the PAF, are my inspiration for fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming a pilot,” stressed the newly-commissioned Air Force 2nd Lt. Leonor. The PMA Madasigon Class of 2023 is composed of 239 males and 72 females, five of them in the Top 10. One hundred fifty-eight of the graduating cadets will join the Philippine Army, 65 are going to the Philippine Air Force, and 77 to the Philippine Navy. Leonor said he would utilize what he had learned from the PMA in the service of the country. Being class valedictorian, Leonor received the Presidential Saber from President Marcos, Philippine Air Force Saber for topping his class in the Air Force training, Australian Defense Best Overall Performance Award, National Security Studies Plaque, the Academic Group Award, Management Plaque, Special Sciences Plaque, Tactics Group Award, Air Force Professional Courses Plaque, SPDU Plaque, Gen. Antonio Luna Award, JUSMAG Saber, and Spanish Armed Forces Award. SALUTATORIAN A farmer’s son from Manito, Albay, Cadet First Class Edmundo Logronio, was the class salutatorian who received the Vice Presidential Saber. Logronio, who will join the Philippine Army, received the Philippine Army Saber, the Australia Defense Best Overall Performance Award, Aguinaldo Saber, the Department of Tactical Officers Plaque, and the Army Professional Courses Plaque. Graduating Top 3 of the class was Cadet Firstt Class Nicole Sarmiento from Butuan City, Agusan del Norte and No. 4 was Cadet First Class Zhen Zhen Cayton from Dupax del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. Cadet First Class Rez Mark Cantor from Bugallon, Pangasinan was No. 5. She received the Philippine Navy Saber and Australian Defense Best Overall Performance Award. Cadet First Class Rojan Macario from Zamboanga City and Barlig, Mountain Province was No. 6, Cadet First Class Samuel Banac from West Fairview, Quezon City was No. 7, Cadet First Class Kimberly Kate Lawingan from Sadanga, Mountain Province was No. 8. Cadet First Class Rico Jay Fernandez from Molave, Zamboanga del Sur was No. 9 who received the Association of Generals and Flag Officers Inc. award and the Department of Leadership Plaque while Cadet First Class Arla Krish Bahingawan from Kiangan, Ifugao was No. 10. She is the recipient of the Department of Humanities Plaque and the Chief Justice Saber.
