Parañaque Mayor Olivarez hails achievements of Veterinary Services Officer
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez acknowledged the achievement of City Veterinary Services Office (CVSO) Head Dr. Karen Camille Vicencio
after she was named as the “Most Outstanding City Veterinarian for Innovative Services” by the Provincial, City and Municipal Veterinarians League of the Philippines (PCMVLP).

Olivarez said Vicencio, aside from being named as “Most Outstanding City Veterinarian for Innovative Services”, was also elected as secretary during the 19th PCMVLP Annual Convention and Scientific Conference held in Lapu-lapu City, Cebu. He said the achievement of Vicencio is a great honor for the city government and also a clear testament of the hard work of the VSO in implementing programs on the welfare of animals. The mayor said among the projects and programs implemented by the CVSO include free anti-rabies vaccination for pets, Spay, Castrate “N” tagging (SCeNT) project, and parasite treatment. Olivarez said the city government, in partnership with Ayala Malls, Manila is also conducting “Adopt-A-Pound” dog project aimed at giving animals "furparents" or a family.. He said the CVSO also conducts meat inspections in partnership with the National Meat Inspection Service to ensure that all meats being sold at markets in the city are safe for consumption.
