BIR identifies legit cigarette, vape firms

In line with the government’s campaign against illicit cigarette trade, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) released its list of registered manufacturers and importers of tobacco and vape products catering to local consumers.

Based on Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 57-2023 signed by BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr., seven manufacturers of locally produced cigarettes and 14 tobacco importers are currently registered with the tax bureau.

The BIR also identified 27 legitimate manufacturers and 26 importers of vapor products, as well as 11 importers of heated tobacco and three novel tobacco products.

Lumagui said the latest BIR list of registered manufacturers and importers was as of May 15, 2023.

Seven registered local cigarette makers include the Associated Anglo-American Tobacco Corp., JT International (Philippines), MPE Tobacco Trading, PMFTC Inc., Royal Cigarette Inc., Telengtan Brothers & Sons Inc., and Yosimite Oriental Supersystem Inc.

Anglo-American registered 22 cigarette brands with the BIR, 41 brands for JTI, one brand for MPE, 33 brands for PMFTC, and 10 for Tetengtan Brothers & Sons or LA Surety Cigar and Cigarette Factory.

On the other hand, Rolyo Cigarettes and Yosimite Oriental have yet to register any tobacco products with the tax bureau.

Registered cigarette importers, meanwhile, are 20 S Inc., Duty Free Philippines, Goldtree Import & Export Inc., Indigo Distribution Corp. JT International (Philippines), Kenstand Philippines Inc. Phil-One Extreme Corp. PMFTC Inc., and Real International Phil. Corp.

Also included are Stable Tobacco Trading Corp., Sunshine Bay Philippines Inc., Vidda Resources Inc., Winning Touch International Marketing Inc., and Zhongdingtong International Trade Philippines Corp.

Thirteen of the 14 cigarette importers registered a total of 134 brands.

Meanwhile, the BIR has 27 registered manufacturers of vape products, namely Akeesha Manufacturing and Trading Corp., BX Vape Juices, Cholo’s De Calidad Juice Blends, Clouded RD Vape Juice Manufacturing, and Creamy Creations Vape Juice Manufacturing.

In addition to the list are Customized E-Juice Manufacturing, Denkat Trading Corp., DRGNDRPS Vape Juice Manufacturing, DVMYL Juice Manufacturing, Flava Corp., Fruttakool Vape Juice MFG, Golden Drops E Juice Corp., Goodies E Liquids and Hitsorchase Vape Juice Manufacturing.

Others are HS Eliquids Inc., JJ-Trops Vape Juice Manufacturing, Juan Vape Juice Manufacturing, Master Vapour Inc., Mo Flovors Corp., Mr. O’s Liquid Opc, Ovenvaped Vape Juice Manufacturing, Precision Flavor Manufacturing, Redbubble Inc., VapePH Eliquid Chemical Manufacturing, Vapetime Inc., VIP Bros Inc. and Zcrew International Inc.

Registered importers of heated tobacco are 20 S, Duty Free, Goldtree, Indigo Distribution Corp., JTI, Kenstand Philippines Inc., Paris Tobacco Co., Inc., PMFTC, Sunshine Bay Philippines Inc.. Tabaqueria De Filipinas, Inc. and Winning Touch International Marketing Inc.

Lastly, importers of novel tobacco products registered with the BIR are JTI, PMFTC, and Scandynavian Tob. Products Store.

“The products must comply with the requirement on Graphic Health Warning and the affixing of BIR Tax Stamps except for vapor products and novel tobacco products for which Internal Revenue Stamps Integrated System (IRSIS) stamps are not yet available in the system,” Lumagui said.
