The Olivarez brothers visited the two evacuation sites -- Area 1 covered court and San Antonio National High School -- on Friday, May 19, to find out the situation of the victims. The victims were immediately given financial assistance in order to provide food for their families. During their visit at the evacuation sites, the mayor told the victims that he and his brother will visit them again for the distribution of food packs, mats, blankets, clothes, and hygiene kits. The City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWDD), under Vivian Gabriel, is currently conducting validation activities to determine the exact number of residents who were victimized by the fire. Records of the CSWDD showed that a total of 660 families or 1,985 individuals were affected by the fire last Thursday at Hontiveros Compound, Fourth Estate, Barangay San Antonio. Â
