According to the grapevine, the decades-long friendship between Close Pal (CP) and Influential Friend (IF) might be in jeopardy. Over the years, CP and IF have been known to share a close, trusting bond. Both grew up in the realm of wealth and their families have built their reputation among the common folks. Hence, the two were bound to follow similar career paths and affluent lifestyles. Unfortunately, IF found out that CP made decisions that could weigh heavily on their relationship. When IF needed help in a major endeavor, CP was around to assist. He did what was expected from him, which made IF secure in his goal. When the time came for scrutiny, IF was surprised to learn that CP was not alone in his move. CP allegedly used his connections to raise the amount to help out IF. Apparently, CP did not solely own the amount, which IF could not believe. All the while, IF thought CP drew from the family coffers for his personal use, but he did not. CP did not have such finances. Now, IF realized his ‘debt’ was not to CP but to a number of other personalities. The supposed truth now made IF realize that he ‘owed’ other people and not just his good friend. The question now is whether those other people would ask for something in return.
