Ex-drug offender nabbed in Bacolod buy-bust

BACOLOD CITY – A 41-year-old man was arrested after he yielded 12 grams of suspected shabu worth P81,000 during a buy-bust in City Heights, Barangay Taculing here on Friday, May 19. Police Station 5 head Police Capt. Francis Depasucat identified the subject as Remy Juelo of Barangay Mandalagan here, a street-level individual. Depasucat said the suspect was also arrested for drug offense but was released from jail in 2021 after he applied for probation. However, he was subjected to a buy-bust operation after he was monitored to have been allegedly continuing his engagement in the illegal drugs trade, according to Depasucat. Depasucat said the suspect alleged that poverty pushed him to enter into the illegal activity. Police also confiscated from him P150, an improvised tooter, the P300 marked money, and a motorcycle he reportedly used in the transport or delivery of the illegal drugs.
