BI deports 2 foreigners wanted in India

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deported two foreigners allegedly wanted in India  for engaging in criminal activities.

Amrik Singh, 34, and Hayer Amritpal Singh, 24, were deported to New Delhi via a Thai Airways flight at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, according to BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

"These individuals had been declared undesirable aliens and were the subjects of a summary deportation order issued by the BI Board of Commissioners in March of this year," BI said in a statement.

Escorted by BI agents and Indian law enforcement officers, the two were handed over to the Indian authorities upon their arrival in the Indian capital city.

Based on BI records, Amrik illegally entered the Philippines and was found to have been harboring another Indian fugitive who was wanted in India for involvement in terrorist activities.

On the other hand, Hayer faced multiple charges in India, including violating the unlawful activities prevention act. He was also under investigation for murder and had an arrest warrant issued against him for violating his country's arms law.

During the deportation process, Hayer attempted to escape at the departure area but was promptly apprehended by BI operatives.
