Rhenz Abando tallied his best game but Anyang KGC fell short against defending champion Seoul SK Knights, 100-91, in Game 4 of their best-of-seven finals series in the 2022-23 Korean Basketball League on Monday night, May 1, at the Jamsil Student Gymnasium.
The Filipino import fired a team-high 22 points on an 8-of-13 shooting clip, highlighted by a 4-of-6 clip from beyond the arc. He also tallied five rebounds, three blocks and two assists.

Oh Se-geun added 17 points and nine rebounds in the losing effort behind Abando. Anyang couldn’t gain the commanding 3-1 series lead as Seoul held on to the win until the end of the match. Just as Anyang thought it had things under control, the 62-61 slim advantage would turn into a huge 81-66 deficit as Seoul went on a telling 20-5 run in third quarter. The KGC then staged their own fightback with an 18-4 run capped by Abando’s two free throws to pull themselves with four, 88-84, but SK Knights remained composed to eventually arrest their back-to-back losses. American import Jameel Warney led the way for Seoul after dropping a double-double performance of 28 points and 17 rebounds. Anyang looks to regain the series lead when it meets with Seoul for Game 5 on Wednesday, May 3.
