Muntinlupa LGU supports blended learning for public schools

The Muntinlupa City government said it is supporting the decision of the Schools Division Office (SDO) to implement a blended learning modality for all public elementary and high schools due to soaring temperatures.  Starting May 2 until June 2, all 28 public elementary, and junior and senior high schools in Muntinlupa will have a blended learning modality.  A class at the Muntinlupa Elementary School in August 2022 (Photo from Muntinlupa PIO)
“The City Government of Muntinlupa concurs with and supports the decision of the Schools Division Office-Muntinlupa City to shift to Blended Learning Delivery Modality from May 2 to June 2 for health reasons during the severe high temperature conditions being experienced this season,” said Mayor Ruffy Biazon.  The mayor said the blended learning will “proactively address the rising cases of Covid infections in the city which has seen 10 active cases on April 20 to 33 active cases on April 30.” “Although we have not experienced any emergency incidents with regard to the high temperature and no severe cases of Covid, we would like to take the necessary steps to be prepared for the worse and to prevent any adverse effect on Muntinlupeños. We are presently undertaking preemptive measures and are preparing our response system in case the situation escalates,” said Biazon.  “Blended Learning composites face to face and asynchronous modalities,” according to Schools Division Superintendent Evangeline Ladines. According to a DepEd issuance in July 2022, blended learning “refers to a learning delivery that combines face-to-face with any or a mix of online distance learning, modular distance learning, and TV/Radio-based Instruction.”
