The Measles-Rubella Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-OPV SIA) of the Department of Health (DOH) kicked off in Plaridel, Bulacan on Tuesday, May 2.
The vaccination started after Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando led the orientation on MR-OPV SIA, which was held last April 26 to 28 at the Victory Church in the City of Malolos.

In Barangay Lumang Bayan, Plaridel, the MR-OPV SIA vaccination for children 0-59 months old was held at the annex-covered court in the said village.
Nurses and midwives assigned for the inoculation of children were assisted by ABC Chairman Leoncio C. Ramos of Barangay Lumang Bayan, village councilors headed by Linda Alejandro Ravago, committee on health, council members Belinda Mariano, Rosita Geronimo, Ricky Ignacio, Aris Castillo, Delfin Mariano, and Rene Acuna.
Ravago told Manila Bulletin the vaccination was done simultaneously in all barangays of Plaridel town.
In their village alone, she said the vaccination at the annex covered court will be conducted daily for 10 days.
Ravago called on parents, whose children have yet to be vaccinated after 10 days, to go to the barangay health center or wait for them for a house-to-house vaccination.
