FHFI is now accepting entries for Essay Writing Contest—Youth Category

Here’s how to join.

In celebration of the National Heritage Month with the theme “Heritage: Change and Continuity,” the Filipino Heritage Festival Incorporated (FHFI) together with the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) have officially launched the 4th FHFI Essay Writing Contest—Youth Category.

This competition is open to all Filipino youth from ages 16 to 23 years old who are not professional writers. The essay contest is open both in English and Filipino language categories. To join, participants should answer these questions:

**In English:** What is heritage and what is its significance? Referred to as the past, was it preserved and conserved; how do you see heritage in today's fast-paced world; what value have you contributed for heritage to be maintained; and how do you visualize heritage with the change brought about by technology in the next generation.

In Filipino:
Ano ang pamana at ang kanyang kahalagahan? Sa nakaraan, ito ba ay napanatili at napangalagaan; sa iyong paningin, ano ang pamana sa kasalukuyang pag-inog ng mundo; ano ang halagang naiambag mo na mapanatili ito; at ano ang iyong pananaw sa pamana sa dalang pagbabago ng teknolohiya sa susunod na henerasyon.

Participants can only submit one entry per category with a maximum length of 500 words, but he or she can submit one each for both categories. Entry must be an original work and has not been published in any publication both offline and online.
