BLACKPINK's Jennie debuts at Met Gala with 90s-inspired Chanel dress

BLACKPINK’s Jennie made her debut appearance at the annual Met Gala held on May 1 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.  This year’s theme is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” honoring the works of the world famous German fashion designer who passed away on Feb. 19, 2019 at age 85.  BLACKPINK's Jennie (right) being interviewed by Emma Chamberlain for Vogue (Screenshot from Vogue video on YouTube)

I’m curious to see how they sit down.”  About her dress, Jennie said, “I’m wearing Chanel from the 90s. I’m so lucky to have a Chanel team recreate this look from the 90s, the one that Karl [Lagerfeld] did. I’m so happy."  About what was she looking forward to see at the Met Gala, Jennie said, "I would say literally everything. I don’t know what to expect. Rosie was here last year. She told me just to have fun. That’s the plan for today,” she said.  BLACKPINK's Rosé made her Met Gala debut in 2021.  The Met Gala’s co-chairs this year are Dua Lipa, Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
